This is important to us.

At Gethsemane, we want to put our faith in the Lord into action: to help those in our community who are in need - physically, emotionally and especially spiritually - ready to share with others the reason for the hope that we have.  The hope that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
— Galatians 5:13 NIV

Here are some of the opportunities we have found right in our neighborhood to serve others. If you have any interest in participating or if you're just curious to know more, please contact us.

For any upcoming service opportunities, please refer to our events page.

Vacation Bible School

One Saturday each summer, we open our doors to the children in our neighborhood who are invited to a themed adventure where the Bible comes alive through stories, music, games, crafts and recreation.  A family BBQ in the afternoon follows the close of V.B.S.

We are privileged to prepare and serve meals for our neighbors at a local family shelter several times throughout the year.

Black Friday Coffee

On the Friday following Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, we have the joy of brightening the day of weary shoppers at the Washington Square Mall with coffee and hot cocoa.  We are located right across the street from the entrance on SW Greenburg Rd. (Look for the 3 crosses).  We appreciate the opportunity to join with our community in ringing in the start of the Christmas advent season, looking forward to celebrating the birth of the Christ!

Gethsemane @ Edgewood Point Assisted Living & Memory Care

Every other Thursday, Pastor Moll brings church to the residents of Edgewood Point Assisted Living & Memory Care Center. It is a privilege to share the good news and hope of the Gospel to those who are unable to leave the facility to attend traditional church services.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
— Romans 12:9-13 NIV

Sharing the Gospel in our neighborhood

We have seen how the Lord blesses Christians who step out in faith to share their faith.

So that our joy in the good news of God's salvation is made complete, we want to go out and share this important message with our neighbors by walking the neighborhood and introducing ourselves to our community with the timely and relevant message of God’s love and grace.

If we paid you a visit or you would like to learn more, please contact us!

Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
— Psalm 96:2-3

Prayer Chain

Our prayer chain is a way for people to gain assistance in prayer for any serious and pressing problem. We know that the Lord hears our prayers (1 John 5:14-15), and we are assured that He answers them all according to his good and perfect will. (Luke 11:9, Matt. 7:7).

Prayer requests are collected throughout the week and our congregation will be honored to pray on these requests.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
— Hebrews 4:16

If you would like our congregation to pray for you, you can submit a request on our website.

  • the work of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • the role of baptism and the Lord’s Supper
  • how we come to faith
  • the Christian and God’s will

Contact us if you are interested in attending Bible Information Class.
